Well, wedding season is right around the corner… I always know when my bridal sessions start to pick up…and, I just love shooting all these pretty girls!

Morgan and I met last year and connected right away! I can’t believe the wedding is in just 5 weeks. I also love Raleigh weddings! We shot her bridal portraits at Edenton First Methodist. Having shot there in the past, i knew I would love the location…. :)

Morgan (happily) gave me permission to post a few of her pics from the session.

I love this part of the church….

This shot of the bus is kinda funny…. the kids were so excited to see Morgan. They were yelling out the windows at her. :)

soooo pretty!

This is my new promo for Boudoir sessions. I’ve recently started offering these sessions and  I’m finding out they are very popular. I make sure to keep them classy and fun with just a hint of sexiness. I love it when women are comfortable with their bodies… if only I could get there… :) anyways… there are a few slots left for this boudoir get together in Charlotte, NC. If you are interested and would like more information please e-mail me! All my best!

January 2nd…what a magical wedding for both Elizabeth and JP. I had a great time getting to know them and their entire family. This was a destination wedding for almost all who came. Some as far as Norway and Afghanistan. I don’t think anyone counted on such a cold day, but, we managed. :) I can’t believe how happy Elizabeth was in 12 degree temps and a strapless gown!

Elizabeth and JP wanted to see each other before the wedding and drive around downtown Asheville for pictures. My assistant and I treated them both to a much needed coffee break mid-session. I’ll admit, I needed a warm-up drink too!

We drove on to the Asheville School Chapel for the ceremony and then off to The Crest Center for the reception. The centerpieces by Enchanted Florist were so unique and complimented the venue perfectly! It was truly a magical evening!

Special thanks to Kerri for braving the cold with me! Much love girl.

i love this moment between friends…

seeing one another for the first time…

so gorgeous!!!

trying to keep warm. :)

I loved that they cut the cake with a sabor!

Elizabeth and JP, my best to the both of you! ~ Katy

Okay, so a little birdie told me that I’m not blogging enough lately, and it’s true. With the boys out of school for Christmas break and moving homes during a blizzard…. it’s been kinda hard to keep up. :)

That said, here we go!  What a wonderful start to 2010! I loved this couple. Elizabeth and JP have such a beautiful love. Both have served and worked overseas in Afghanistan.  There is actually so many amazing things this couple have done… however, I think finding one another is by far the most incredible experience and story! More to come when I post the wedding…

I hope you feel the warmth in these few images from the Rehearsal dinner at the Grove Park. It was soooo cold outside!  The dinner was so relaxed and the food…yummy! I loved getting a chance to photograph the couple in front of the fireplace.

Here is to an awesome 2010! Cheers~

I just adored this couple. Wanted to share a recent slideshow. This is about as fun as they come!

It only took them forever to figure it out and date each other! These two have been mutual friends with us for years. I loved that I was able to photograph the wedding. What a fun and…freezing day it was! Seriously, it was so cold! Oh…and there was rain. Okay, so not the most ideal outdoor wedding, but as soon as Keisha walked down the aisle, I don’t think anyone noticed… :)  Homewood is always a beautiful backdrop for pictures, but I think we were all pretty happy to go to Coleman Place and warm up afterward! What a fun party too! This wedding was a wonderful way to wrap up wedding season! :)

Kelsey and Robby are the sweetest couple and very dear to my heart. I was thrilled that the big day was finally here! A very long engagement and a lot of planning and anticipation led up to a gorgeous wedding!

Lake Lure Inn was beautiful. You couldn’t have asked for a more picturesque venue and the accomodations were perfect for a mountain wedding.

I really could go on and on about Kelsey. She has meant so much to me and has been a huge supporter of my business. In fact, I had 3 former brides at this wedding! It was like a little reunion. :) She also left the nicest gift in my room… thank you for that. Here are a few teasers…

so as usual… I can’t resist a cute baby!

this was my favorite part of the whole day… we staged an intimate meeting for the couple prior to the ceremony. It allowed for us to get some awesome images! Look how sweet they were? There was not a dry eye…I was crying too!

the beautiful girls…

Hilarious!

this shot is my favorite! I pulled them away from the reception for this….

Hope the honeymoon was amazing! Love you both - Katy

April is so easily adored. She has that constant love and positive energy that attracts anyone and Will was no exception.

I discovered quite the love story about the two…. April and Will met on a plane. I’m sorry, but, how romantic! After striking up a conversation on their flight… Will regreted not getting her number. Luckily, they ended up on another flight together and the rest is history. I was honored to witness the love and marriage between them both.

I think my favorite part of the day was our time shooting with the couple before the wedding.  April really wanted to have some time with just Will before walking down the aisle. Barnsley Gardens is an amazing venue for photography! The historic home burned to the ground, but the ruins make for a beautiful setting! I was in love with it all!

April and Will- my best to you both! You are truly blessed with a love that will last! And a special thanks to Jamie! You rock! Thanks for the referral!

little help from sis…

the ruins that made my heart pitter patter….

April adores kids! She worked as a nanny for one of my client’s kids and they were in the wedding!

 thanks to you both!

WOW!!!! Katy you are awesome and April & Will are too adorable! After checking the blog every day sometimes mulitple times i am relieved to see them up but now what a tease!!! can’t wait for the rest!

“ahhhh Katy they are incredible!!! you did an awesome job!! thank you so much
for putting them up so quickly!!”

UN-believably perfect. :) these capture exactly how wonderful april and will are and everything beautiful about them as a couple and their wedding. love them!

So much to post and so little time…. :)

What a fun wedding and the gorgeous couple! I met Lisa and Jason earlier this year at another wedding I was shooting. They are such a sweet couple and I’m so jealous of them…they are honeymooning in Hawaii right now…. We had a beautiful October day and I loved the colors! The Catawba Country Club was beautifully decorated with candles and white lilies. Thanks for such a fun time!

The first two pics are from Lisa’s Bridal Portraits….we had an incredible amount of rain during the session, but lucked out with a bit of sunshine…

Adria and Daniel are getting married next August! It was great to finally meet them and shoot their engagement session.  We spent Sunday morning walking around my favorite parts of downtown Raleigh and got some great stuff! Here is a quick sneak peek!

Schedule: I’m in Atlanta today shooting a wedding and then Hickory, NC tomorrow for a wedding….needless to say…traveling again.  Everyone have a great weekend!
