Tennessee Newborn Photographer – Sweet Drew.

I’ve been traveling a lot these days… lol.  This session was so worth the drive to Tennessee.  Drew has a very relaxed personality and was easy to work with… We were blessed with a gorgeous spring day and I loved taking some outdoor images. :)   Isn’t his mommy gorgeous?

North Carolina Newborn Photographer – Sweet Luke is here.

The trend of sleeping baby boys continues with Luke… :) What a sweetie! We had amazing natural light in the studio and it was rather toasty… so, he slept the entire session.

Atlanta Newborn Photographer – Little Colin comes early.

Colin surprised us all by coming 4 weeks early! I had just been in Atlanta for Candy’s maternity session… :) I’m looking forward to many sessions with this little guy. He was an angel and slept the entire time!

Big Brother. :)

Eli turns One.

Such a cute kiddo! I can’t believe it’s been a year already? I feel like we just did his newborn session? :)

and now a big boy! :)

NC Newborn Photographer – The Newborn Workshop

Last week’s Newborn workshop was a blast! We managed to cram 21 photographers in to a small space for 5 hours.  I was humbled by the attendance of so many other fabulous photographers from throughout NC and SC…we even had a girl drive in from Charleston!
We covered the basics of newborn photography and had some fun post-processing the images. I’m so pleased that we raised money for The March of Dimes. :)
Of course, my favorite part of the day was holding these precious babies/models. :)

Meet Alora…our alert model for the day.

Sweet Tenley never woke up. :)

This video portion features Miss Ella. I’ve seen some fantastic work (on facebook) by attendees of this little one.

Atlanta Maternity Photographer – Candy

It’s not long now before I meet this little guy.  I’m very excited for the newborn session… but, no one seems more excited than big brother, Griffin.  I always love photographing this family!  Griffin is always eager to please “Miss Katy” and her camera. I love it!

Asheville Newborn Photograper – Marcello

Marcello came to the studio last week and was an absolute angel! I loved his hair and sweet disposition.  He was the perfect baby to take outside and I was so thankful for the warm weather…I love this spring shot below! Thanks to JP and Sonia for driving in from Charlotte, NC. You are truly blessed with a “muy lindo nino” :)

Daddy is a firefighter in Charlotte, NC

I love this shot of JP prepping his son’s hair….

Asheville Maternity and Newborn Photographer – Great Expectations

Could they get any prettier? I just adore this couple. I’ve been there from the engagement, to the wedding, and now here comes baby. I love it! Kelsey is one of those people who has a true beauty from inside. I know that this little “Bunzey” baby is going to be one spoiled kiddo. :) I am looking forward to meeting him soon. Kelsey and Robby chose to come to me and we shot both studio and outdoors. We lucked out with some amazing weather and wouldn’t you know it…my cherry trees blossomed and made for a beautiful backdrop. Enjoy the sneak peek.

Newborn Workshop – March 29th at my studio

Getting this together has been interesting! I’ve had several photographers request that I teach a newborn workshop, but the logistics of planning a date combined with finding a newborn hasn’t been easy. It’s funny, but, babies like to come at their own time. :) I’ve finally managed to line up two newborns that will be beautiful models, I’m sure. Here is the information: March 29th from 12-5pm at my studio in downtown Marion, NC. The cost is only $25. I’m limiting this to 10 people – my space isn’t that big. lol.

If you are interested, please e-mail me at: katy@katycookphotography.com

UPDATE: THE WORKSHOP IS FULL

Attached is a promo video I’ve put together. Hope to hear from you!

Asheville, NC Newborn Photography – Here comes Carson in the baby carriage.

Little Carson was one of those easy newborns that I love… within a few minutes he was relaxed and ready for his photo shoot in the studio.  However, his sister, Caroline, wasn’t feeling it that much.  I respect a 2 year old who tells you like it is… and she did. In fact, her favorite phrase was “No Way” to everything I asked of her. :) I kinda loved it.

Amanda and family, thanks for driving in from Winston-Salem. I can’t get over these beautiful kids!  It was truly a pleasure.

Happy Girl!

and because I always love posting the setup shots… :) He was so content.
