Becca and Coen – Engaged

The moment I met Becca and Coen – I just knew we would get along… They were up for any of my crazy ideas and I loved every minute of their engagement session.  They made a special trip in from the Netherlands to visit family and tie up wedding details… and have their engagement session.

Needless to say, I’m super pumped for their wedding tomorrow. They might be a little photogenic…. I’m just saying. ;)

Photo Tip: Becca had her hair and makeup done for our session. I highly recommend this to my brides… it makes you feel beautiful and that comes across in the photograph. Many thanks to Wendy with Blush by Wendy Ballance.

Raleigh Engagement Session – Leslie and Mark

Aren’t they cute? Leslie and Mark have known each other since High School and they are getting married…. tomorrow! I’m so excited to document their day.  I know for a fact that Leslie will be a gorgeous bride – I photographed her bridals and can’t wait to share them…. I’m off to Raleigh for the weekend and wanted to share a few from their engagement session last year. Have a great weekend!!

Duke Mansion Wedding – Susan and Joseph

I first met Susan in a crowded Starbucks in downtown Charlotte. She was sweet and warm and we really hit it off… I knew she would be fantastic to work with and I was right. :)

Susan and Joseph were married in at Christ Lutheran in Charlotte and their reception was held at The Duke Mansion. The accent color of the day was purple and it went so well with the color nature provided. Joseph is an amazing musician and surprised us in the evening with a ballad for his new wife…seriously? Swoon. Such a sweet moment.

many thanks to my second shooter that night: Sarah Jacobs. Love her!!

Banner Elk Engagement Session – Lindsey and Ben

So, I’m very partial to this couple. I’ve grown up with Lindsey (she’s my sister’s BF and might as well be family) and I met Ben years ago when my sister was dating her now husband, Travis. I love that her bestie and his buddy are now gonna get married. What a fun connection! Lindsey has a family farm in Banner Elk and suggested we go there for the engagement shoot. Wow, it was a beautiful and we couldn’t have asked for better fall color! I’m looking forward to this wedding in April! So many familiar faces and friends – I’m sure it will be amazing. :)

Atlantic Beach, NC Wedding Photographer – Pam and Rob

I loved this wedding for several reasons… I love the beach. I love September. And – I love my husband, Marc. All of these combined made for a fantastic day! Pam and Rob weren’t bothered by the (downpour) rain that decided to grace us the entire weekend. It was obvious that they were much more involved with each other to notice… ;)

Venue: Coral Bay Club – Atlantic Beach, NC

Asheville Wedding Photographer – Rachel and Peter ~ Engaged

I’ve had the pleasure of knowing Rachel for a few years and she has such a sweet personality. I’m really looking forward to Rachel and Peter’s winter wedding! I know this crowd and it will be a fun time! :)

Asheville Wedding Photographer – Devin and Josh

I loved, loved, loved this wedding… did I mention that I loved this wedding?? Devin and Josh put together a beautiful and fun day for everyone. I’ve had a blast getting to know them over this past year… such a great couple.  Thanks for such a great time! As always…images speak louder than words. :)

Ceremony: The Basillica of St. Lawrence

Reception: The Venue

Duke Chapel Wedding Photographer – Anderson and Adam

Why wait until the summer? Anderson and Adam didn’t want to… that’s what they told me at their engagement session last year. :) Why not get married in January? And, so they did. What a beautiful wedding!  Duke Chapel is well…amazingly beautiful.

I loved hanging with this crowd all day.  We managed the cold like champs! I have to say, I cheated a little… Marc bought hand warmers before the wedding and between shots I was squeezing them to keep my hands warm.  Can’t exactly shoot when your fingers are numb. :)   That said, the day went off without a glitch… talk about keeping to a schedule. I was impressed. The reception was a blast! There was even a dance off that had everyone laughing! What a fun night.

So, our day started at the salon, BLO, in Raleigh, NC…. I love being there from the beginning…

Susan was the sweetest little flower girl… she is named after Anderson’s mother.

Isn’t it funny how the guys always wait until the last minute to get ready? lol. I’m just saying…. :)

gorgeous.

loved this moment between Anderson and her father. He couldn’t hold his tears back…

Great speech by Adam’s brother.

Definite advantage to having a second photographer… same scene with two different angles…

Anderson and Adam – I hope you are having a great honeymoon in Mexico! Congratulations!

Happy New Year – Best Image

2010… what a year!  I photographed weddings in Ireland and Jamaica – I opened a new studio – Moved in to a new house – Started offering workshops – and so much more! I have been truly blessed.

I’m really excited about 2011 and all the possibilities both personally and professionally. :)

After a poll on Facebook, I am happy to post my “Image of the Year”…. I adore it.  My sweet nephew, Bennett.  His daddy is quite the surfer and this shot was a must have….totally worth getting to the beach at 6:30 AM

North Carolina Wedding Photographer – Megan and Matt

I love this couple! Her sweet personality and his ability to keep it easy… they are perfect for one another. I love traveling to Raleigh, (especially with my hubby) and the entire day was awesome! Such amazing weather, I’m gonna be a bit sad when winter hits… I am enjoying these brief moments of no chill and no humidity. :) And of course, we always love shooting at the Capital City Club.

So, I was working with a Clemson crowd…I know how die-hard Clemson fans can be… as a young girl, my step-father would take all of us to every home game. I loved the atmosphere and (the tailgating)… it made for lasting memories. :) who knew that Clemson would play Carolina that weekend!???? The wedding went between well-wishes and “what’s the score?”

All jokes aside… Clemson lost that night, but, I think Megan and Matt were oblivious. Congrats to you both! Enjoy this sneak peek!
