Atlantic Beach, NC Wedding Photographer – Pam and Rob

I loved this wedding for several reasons… I love the beach. I love September. And – I love my husband, Marc. All of these combined made for a fantastic day! Pam and Rob weren’t bothered by the (downpour) rain that decided to grace us the entire weekend. It was obvious that they were much more involved with each other to notice… ;)

Venue: Coral Bay Club – Atlantic Beach, NC

Asheville Wedding Photographer – Rachel and Peter ~ Engaged

I’ve had the pleasure of knowing Rachel for a few years and she has such a sweet personality. I’m really looking forward to Rachel and Peter’s winter wedding! I know this crowd and it will be a fun time! :)

Asheville Wedding Photographer – Devin and Josh

I loved, loved, loved this wedding… did I mention that I loved this wedding?? Devin and Josh put together a beautiful and fun day for everyone. I’ve had a blast getting to know them over this past year… such a great couple.  Thanks for such a great time! As always…images speak louder than words. :)

Ceremony: The Basillica of St. Lawrence

Reception: The Venue

Duke Chapel Wedding Photographer – Anderson and Adam

Why wait until the summer? Anderson and Adam didn’t want to… that’s what they told me at their engagement session last year. :) Why not get married in January? And, so they did. What a beautiful wedding!  Duke Chapel is well…amazingly beautiful.

I loved hanging with this crowd all day.  We managed the cold like champs! I have to say, I cheated a little… Marc bought hand warmers before the wedding and between shots I was squeezing them to keep my hands warm.  Can’t exactly shoot when your fingers are numb. :)   That said, the day went off without a glitch… talk about keeping to a schedule. I was impressed. The reception was a blast! There was even a dance off that had everyone laughing! What a fun night.

So, our day started at the salon, BLO, in Raleigh, NC…. I love being there from the beginning…

Susan was the sweetest little flower girl… she is named after Anderson’s mother.

Isn’t it funny how the guys always wait until the last minute to get ready? lol. I’m just saying…. :)

gorgeous.

loved this moment between Anderson and her father. He couldn’t hold his tears back…

Great speech by Adam’s brother.

Definite advantage to having a second photographer… same scene with two different angles…

Anderson and Adam – I hope you are having a great honeymoon in Mexico! Congratulations!

Happy New Year – Best Image

2010… what a year!  I photographed weddings in Ireland and Jamaica – I opened a new studio – Moved in to a new house – Started offering workshops – and so much more! I have been truly blessed.

I’m really excited about 2011 and all the possibilities both personally and professionally. :)

After a poll on Facebook, I am happy to post my “Image of the Year”…. I adore it.  My sweet nephew, Bennett.  His daddy is quite the surfer and this shot was a must have….totally worth getting to the beach at 6:30 AM

North Carolina Wedding Photographer – Megan and Matt

I love this couple! Her sweet personality and his ability to keep it easy… they are perfect for one another. I love traveling to Raleigh, (especially with my hubby) and the entire day was awesome! Such amazing weather, I’m gonna be a bit sad when winter hits… I am enjoying these brief moments of no chill and no humidity. :) And of course, we always love shooting at the Capital City Club.

So, I was working with a Clemson crowd…I know how die-hard Clemson fans can be… as a young girl, my step-father would take all of us to every home game. I loved the atmosphere and (the tailgating)… it made for lasting memories. :) who knew that Clemson would play Carolina that weekend!???? The wedding went between well-wishes and “what’s the score?”

All jokes aside… Clemson lost that night, but, I think Megan and Matt were oblivious. Congrats to you both! Enjoy this sneak peek!

The Workshop

So, I just finished up my first official “workshop” over the past weekend and I had a blast! What a fun and very full Saturday.  I wanted to post a few images from our shoot portion. Our models were awesome! Little Sarayah won everyone over and she was so easy to photograph. I managed to get a few of her and I’m posting them below… Special thanks to Chris Garner with TPS Photography (thanks for the help!) and a thank you to Kelsey and Robby for making the drive from Charlotte to model for us… :)

The next workshop is in Atlanta, GA on November 20th, 2010. If you are interested, please contact me for information!  Feel free to visit: www.katycookworkshop.com

I’m also including a slideshow that I put together for the workshop. :) It takes 6 secs to load.

Meg and Chris – Raleigh Wedding

I loved everything about this wedding! The dress, the venue, the decor, but, mostly the couple.  I met Meg and Chris at a wedding I shot last year and was so excited when they chose me as their wedding photographer. These two are die hard ECU Pirate fans. Needless to say, the pic below is from their engagement session and there was a little ECU theme. :)

So, it is pretty much a photographer’s dream when you have 3 hours to shoot in downtown Raleigh… (well, at least for me it is!)  The ceremony was held at 2:30 which allowed for plenty of time for photos before the 6pm cocktail hour.  The entire bridal party came with us and we had a blast! After that, it was on to the coolest venue ever, The North Carolina Museum of History.  I had no idea you could hold receptions at this location? It was gorgeous.

Special thanks to the Ryan family for making me feel so at home. I loved every moment.

i love this shot of dad looking at his daughter…

I loved the dress… and how fun to meet Anna with Traditions by Anna. She was there to help with the dress and Meg looked amazing. Ironically, my Raleigh bride from 2 weeks prior, used the same shop!

stunning…

Gorgeous floral by Victorian Seasons

Chris is a big Guinness fan…

The decor was AMAZING!

The BIG ECU crowd!

The cake topper almost fell… kinda hilarious moment…

Meg and Chris – I hope the honeymoon is awesome!

Mandy and Michael – Engagement session

Mandy and Michael drove all the way from Atlanta, Ga for their engagement session. I had a blast with them… we basically went all over McDowell county. :) Mandy is from the area, so it seemed fitting.

I am looking forward to the wedding in October! Such a gorgeous couple…

Anderson and Adam – Engagement session on the farm…

Anderson and Adam are the sweetest couple! I loved that Anderson wanted to shoot their engagement session on her family farm. This farm has been in the family for  years and it provided so many photographic opportunities! I was like a kid in a candy store.  Not to mention, this couple is absolutely gorgeous. I don’t think I could take a bad picture of them? :) Here is a quick sneak peek from last week’s session.
