Mother’s Day Special!!! :)

Okay, so it’s not too late! I know many of you out there have put off Mother’s day…. I’m speaking mostly to the hubby’s out there. Well, you’re in luck. Give your wife the gift of timeless portraiture.  She will love it!

I’m offering a special on my session fee for the month of June only. 50% off. I would also encourage a purchase of a high quality canvas for Mother’s day… ;) These are gorgeous and very popular with my clients.

In fact, I’m posting a few client orders that were shipped in to the studio today… they look so tiny in these pics, but the actual dimensions are 24×30. Talk about striking. Wish I could keep them for myself….

left the protective plastic on… but, you get the idea.

excuse the prop mess in the background… anybody want a shaggy white rug? I will give it away free… never use it.

The Wright Family – fun and carefree session…

We had moments of rain and cold wind, but, I love some of the shots we took! I’ve had the pleasure of photographing both of these kiddos before and I just love their blonde hair! Ella wore the coolest clothes by Matilda Jane. I would highly recommend this clothing line for those who like a funky and unique look!

Due to the weather, we decided to continue this session in a couple of weeks, so stay tuned for more of these two sweeties!

I’ve been rocking this blue chair a lot lately… not bad for a $1 yard sale find!

mommy and me moments…

Griffin… and a bit of a photo obsession

I love this client! Candy literally hires me about every 6 months… I’ve treasured knowing her and photographing her adorable son, Griffin. He has amazing blue eyes and his personality is very laid back.

We discovered he has a love for make believe… So, for most of the session he smiled at the invisible guinea pig on my head named Bob… Don’t get me started on how successful this tactic was… :)

Candy, it was great to see you again! Can’t wait for Savannah! See you then!

AND – for the photo obsession part…. refer to the last pic in the post…

love this sweet shot!

So, I was blown away by Candy’s house! I hadn’t been there in over a year and almost every wall is “Katy Cook”. Gotta love it! Check out these pics below. There is a huge canvas, several gallery prints and custom collages… So cool!!!

Sweet Jessica turns one…

Okay, I’m on a blogging frenzy right now…. I am loving all the kid sessions I’ve been shooting lately.  :)

I made it down to Atlanta this past weekend and documented Jessica’s 1st Birthday. She has grown so quickly… She is such a stinker when it comes to smiling for the camera… it can be difficult to catch her grinning, but, completely worth it!

Not only did I shoot her portrait session, I was also there to document her birthday party. Check out the cake shot below! YUMMY.

Gage – 6 months of spoiled rotten…

Love this cutie! During our session last week, Julie and I noticed how much this little man likes to “smile” with his eyes…. It’s amazing!

I absolutely love this first shot in the sink…. we didn’t get a smile here, but i think it’s cause’ he thought we were a little weird putting him there in the first place. :) I can’t blame Julie and Chris for spoiling this sweetie rotten! Gage just keeps getting more squeezable!

So big…. :)

Ireland – Part II

IRELAND. Loved every moment!

It’s hard for me to put in to words how thankful I am. How amazing these past couple of years have been for my business! I’ve never been so excited to shoot a wedding… it was well worth it.

The day started early and ended late and every minute was worth documenting. Fiona and Chris are a beautiful couple and I wish them many blessings in their marriage. I’m just going to start with the images before I get all emotional, but I did want to say a special thank you to Chris…. Marc and I were honored that you included us in your toast of thanks. I cried. Thank you.

Getting ready at the salon, Joe looks on Fiona…

getting the dress on…

off to the church.

love this shot of Fiona’s mom that Marc captured.

The “Signing of the Wedding Certificate”

the European paparrazi… loved them!

check out the pink columns… I loved this venue. Too pretty!

fun time with the hats…

This is Bethany. I shot her wedding last year and Fiona was a bridesmaid.

the getaway in Stephen’s awesome Beetle….

and finally, a goofy shot of the two of us at Belfast Castle

A huge thank you to both the Baker and Limpach families! We had a wonderful time!

The Roe kids… Asheville Kid Session

This was too much fun! I had a fantastic time with the Roe family last week! Kate was amazing in front of the camera and Trey was such a character! I’ve been shooting a lot of weddings and brides (which I love) but, it was so nice to have a kids session. I especially love it when it is so carefree… I always find it easier to photograph kids when they take the lead and direct the session. :) Sarah, it was awesome meeting you and your family! Best to you.

family fun!

Thanks for the fun session!

Ireland – Part 1 (The Engagement)

There are so many things I could say about this wonderful country! I loved my time there and hope to go back soon! My husband came with me and we haven’t been away from the kiddos that long…. ever. We had a great time!

It’s funny, Ireland lived up to all my hopes… you know, you envision the amazing green pastures and quaint villages? It’s all true!

We flew in to Dublin in the south and made our way by bus to Belfast in the north. I can’t say enough about the warmth we received from the locals. Everyone went out of their way to make us feel at home. :)

I’ve had many ask me how I booked a wedding in Ireland? Well, it was a bit of luck and fate, I think?

Fiona is from Belfast and was living in the states a few years ago when she met Chris. For the two, it was a quick courtship before she had to return to Ireland. However, that was all it took for them to realize they wanted to pursue a long-distance relationship. So, after many trips across “the pond” they were engaged.

Now, how do I fit in to this? Well, I didn’t even know the full story until recently. Fiona and Chris came to a wedding I shot in 2008 at Montreat College. Chris was friends with the bride. Then… ironically, I shot Chris’s sister’s wedding that next year. (insert Fiona) She was one of Bethany’s bridesmaids and we hit it off instantly. I can’t remember our exact conversation, but, it ended with my desire to shoot her upcoming wedding in Ireland and her hope to have me. :)

And there you have it!

So, now I’m sitting here going through thousands of images. I have a lot of work ahead of me…

Here are a few of our engagement session we shot two days prior to the wedding… I’m also including some funny (non-professional) video my hubby took during our time with Fiona and Chris. It was windy and cold… enough said. :) More from the wedding day soon! Best!

shot of Belfast Castle… reminded me of a small Biltmore.

this is a shot of the City Capital at night… walking to the taxi from dinner.

It was so funny, because, I was pretty convinced we wouldn’t be able to get him to sleep… boy, I was wrong. :) He knocked out.

I’m off to Ireland…

I couldn’t resist editing just one picture from my newborn session today… truthfully, I should be packing right now… like this very minute… *sigh* I just can’t help it. I love little babies.

More of Mr. Eli when I return… promise.
