month: September 2009

Finally… no rain.

Two weeks ago I had a session scheduled with these two little guys! Unfortunately, after driving two hours to meet me…it rained all day! I was bummed…they were such cuties!

Luckily, we rescheduled for a beautiful day! Thanks to Rachel! I am so happy to have met you twice! Just a few with more to come. :)

Mandy and Eddie – Highland Lake Inn

So many personal relationships at this wedding! I was overwhelmed with all the love! Mandy and Eddie were an amazing couple and I just couldn’t get over how much I felt like part of the family. That happened in part, because I spent so much time before the wedding with Mandy and we shared so much!

The wedding took place on a rainy Saturday (we seem to have a lot of those lately?) at the Highland Lake Inn. The plans for an outdoor wedding were canceled, but the setting in the Grande Hall was beautiful and I don’t think anyone would have changed a thing! The mountains may be unpredictable with the weather, but you’ve got to love it! :)

I need to give a special thanks to Mandy and she knows why. I hope you love the pictures!

Gorgeous flowers by An English Garden!

the entire group… i love this shot!

my “competition” … so sweet!

Thanks again for having me and I’m looking forward to a lasting friendship!

for laughs… this is awesome!

Chicago Session – Little Miss Caroline

Okay, so I know it sounds corny, but I’ve had so many Caroline sessions lately and I keep repeating the song “Sweet Caroline” in my head as I sit here editing. :) Of course, having the same name doesn’t equal the same personality, but so far… I’m loving every single one!

Caroline is a first (adored) daughter to Leah and John. I loved meeting them and spending a few hours driving around the suburbs of Chicago. Wow, we lucked out on weather! I was sad to just spend a few days in Chicago, but, I was so happy to return to my boys. I’m off tomorrow for a wedding in Raleigh… more posts to come soon!

Products

I am soooo not a product photographer. Seriously, it’s bad and does not do justice to these products I want to show off! That said, here we go anyway: I’m just showing off my proof boxes for brides. New and custom to each wedding. Also, I’m including pics of my wedding albums and thank you cards.

I’m off to Chicago for sessions and I’ll be back on Wednesday! Enjoy the rain? :)

Lilliana… six months!

Can you say cute? OMG… what is it with all this amazing 6 monthers lately?

Lilliana, you are too much for words! I love all the expressions! and Liz… you are so talented. Liz crotcheted this hat herself…and made the tutu. Talk about a photographer’s dream. In fact, I asked Liz to make some hats for me… I will so use them on future shoots. :) If you would like a hat of your own…send me an e-mail and I will hook you up with this talented lady!

Can’t wait for Jamaica!

Okay, so I think the pugs were the highlight of Jayme and Cole’s engagement session. I love pugs! Kidding aside though, these two were so much fun to photograph! We had fun downtown and on Lake James. I grew up on the lake and loved getting back out on a boat.

I am thrilled about the wedding next year! Can you say…. JAMAICA? If this session is any indication…we are going to have a blast! I can’t wait! Jayme and Cole, thanks for everything! You were so fun!

gotta love some bamboo…. this grows like crazy in my backyard.

Mary and Clay – Biltmore Estate

So you know how sometimes everything goes so beautifully you just want to pinch yourself? That was how I felt on Saturday. Walking in to the bridal suite and meeting Mary made my day! She was so sweet and sincere and I’ll just say it… stunning.

We had gorgeous weather at the Biltmore Estate. The bride and groom wanted to shoot their pictures before the ceremony and that gave us more time to wander the grounds and get some amazing stuff! I was so thankful for the occasional cloud that helped with my shooting in the early afternoon hours. :)

Mary and Clay, thank you for having me. Your love was a beautiful thing to witness.

When I have a couple who takes their pics before the wedding, I always stage a meeting between the two of them…

I like to keep the moment intimate.

i couldn’t help but have fun with the bridal party… in the corn.

The Purple Iris did a beautiful job on the floral.

Katy, Mary's Dad and I are astounded at the beauty and artistry of your photos!
I know this is just a sample, but they far exceed our expectations! Can't wait
for more! You truly, as Mary stated, have a "divine gift".
Your photos are pure poetry. Most Gratefully, Julie

Sweet Caroline. 6 months

Caroline is growing in to one happy baby! I love her big blue eyes and awesome hair! It was so great to photograph her again. She is so silly and loves to roll around… she tried to pull a fast one during the shoot, but I was too quick for her! Amanda, thanks for having me.

This first series of shots made for the perfect storyboard! I couldn’t decide which smile I loved more?  So…I just put them all together.

My sister’s shower….

I wanted to share a few shots from the baby shower I threw my sis at the Duke Mansion. All photos are by Erica from Orange Cat Photo! Thanks so much for coming girlie! I loved that I could just focus on being a hostess with the mostess. :) Attention brides-to-be… if you are in the Charlotte area… this venue is a great place for a shower or bridal luncheon!
