Megahn and Blake – Columbia, SC

I met Megahn and Blake last year at Neely and Dwight’s wedding. This lovely couple booked me the next day for their own wedding. I’ve had a great time getting to know this group! I love when friends can come together and celebrate special events…and talk about an outgoing crowd! There was no way a little (okay a lot) of rain was going to bum them out. I wanted to start out the post with a few of Megahn’s bridal portraits from last month. We had a beautiful day at the Governor’s Mansion in downtown Columbia. ;)

she has the most amazing green eyes!

The “Big” day started at the Hilton…getting ready. ;)

Blake gave Megahn a pearl bracelet as a gift before the ceremony.

I loved shooting at The Millstone at Adam’s Pond. It was so unique.

I loved this little one. ;)

The girls were a little worried about the rain…but, it held off until after the ceremony.

Now this next bit is kinda funny… one of my favorite shots from last year was of a bridesmaid catching the  bouquet. This girl…(Erin) was the sister of the bride. ;) It was a great moment. Well…she also happened to be a bridesmaid in Megahn’s wedding and wouldn’t you know…she caught it again. How fun! Now, I’m guessing the pressure is on…but, I won’t go there. :)

this is from last year

and now… look at that determination…

love this last image my hubby took. ;)

Kelsey… Beautiful Bridal Session.

I should start by warning Robbie not to look!!!!!! Everyone else is welcome. ;) Don’t worry, I had the bride’s enthusiastic permission to post these… she promises she won’t let him near my blog. ***sigh*** it seems whenever I photograph this girl… magic happens! I know it sounds corny, but she is just so natural in front of the camera… and it shows. Okay, Kelsey… here are just a few from our fun/rainy session last week! I had a great time driving around with you.

I know a lot of photographer’s follow my blog and so I’m going to brag a bit on this first shot… I was pretty bummed with our light… It was raining and about 7 at night. I shot this with my 85 at 1.8 and some fill flash. Believe it or not…this is straight out of camera with the exception of some burning at the edges. Not too shabby. ;) Of course, the gorgeous subject helped.

this shot below is an outtake from the session, but I loved it…

I loved this cow! How fun!

Kelli and Kevin – The British Virgin Islands….

I don’t even know where to begin? This will be an image heavy post….. how can it not be? Marc and I had such a great time! Kelly and Kevin, Thank you for having us be a part of such an intimate wedding! It was so wonderful meeting your family! I felt like we were a part of everything and I love how that came through the lens. Our weekend began with so much traveling….

Marc filling out our customs info in St. Thomas…

I was so excited to see our boat with the British flag outside…

I loved the “no barking”

I loved all the flora…

it was time to start getting ready… Kelli’s mom did the hair… at first.

Mom watching her daughter get ready..

Marc got me getting this shot below…

Kelli – Don’t kill me for posting these! :)

Newborn Jessica… just one

We all have those weeks, right?? Last week, I was a little overwhelmed and I didn’t get a chance to post. Getting back from St. Thomas, driving to ATL, and the list goes on…. Finally, it’s Monday and I have a chance to breathe. I’m looking forward to catching up on some editing this week! :) I’m posting one from my newborn session last week and there will be a big post on the wedding in the Virgin Islands very soon! ;) Here is sweet Jessica…so tiny. I just loved her.

Lauren and Eric – Wedding at Homewood

These two have known each other since High School and it was so nice to see them married. I had a blast with Lauren and Eric last year during their engagement session! We had so much fun and I loved their enthusiasm. I knew this would be a fantastic wedding and Homewood is a great venue to shoot at!

Thanks to my assistant, Keicha! Awesome job girlie! Also, what an easy day with Jennifer King of Verge Events.

The day was beautiful and the decor was timeless. Anyway, here are a few pics from last Saturday. I’m so giddy…. I’m leaving for The British Virgin Islands today to document an awesome wedding! I’ll be back in the office next Tuesday, but can still be reached by e-mail. Have a blessed weekend. – Katy :)

Below is one of my fav’s from their engagement session:

Lauren’s dress was beautiful…

You know how green everything is after it rains… Homewood was amazing and GREEN.

Lauren and Eric were so ready for this moment.

So these were the coolest (placecards/favors) ever!  Little cookie cutters. Too cute!

Important Updates…

Well, I’m adjusting to my new computer and such after my computer crashed last week, but there is an issue. I always made a point of backing up my images and so everything is fine there, but I lost my calendar. I never thought to back it up and I’m freaking out a bit! I had several sessions scheduled for the summer and now i’ve lost the info. I know…I’m kicking myself. This is a head’s up to anyone out there who had a date scheduled with me…. please let me know asap!

I do have my wedding dates logged…so I’m good with the brides. I’ve got a very busy weekend ahead…bridal today, wedding tomorrow, and a bridal on Sunday. Feel free to reach me through e-mail.

Okay, I’ll post a few images from this week and then I’m off to Charlotte!
